
Hike Makhrour valley & UNESCO village Battir
About This Tour
The Palestinian village of Battir is a UNESCO world heritage site registered as: Land of Olives and Vines, cultural landscape of Southern Jerusalem. During the hike in the Makhrour valley we will explore this cultural landscape, the terraces, the Roman tombs, caves and irrigation system. In Battir we will learn about the meaning of solidarity and fair share of the water between the 8 Palestinian families (tribes) We will visit several local initiatives and have a traditional Palestinian lunch. A bus will take us back to Beit Jala from where you can return to Jerusalem or Bethlehem. Minimum 6 people or minimum 600 dollar.
